Best of 2014: Makeup

Happy 2015 everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday season and I wish you all the best for this new year. How crazy is it that it is 2015? I think I am still in denial! One of my resolutions is to get back on this whole blogging shebang again. I have been making excuses and pushing it aside, but the truth is that I really miss blogging and having a place to write. I hope to be updating a few times a week with product reviews, more in depth information about my videos and favorite items, and fashion posts as well! Apart from blogging, I will hopefully be posting videos more frequently as well! I wanted to catch you all up on a few things that have been going on on my YouTube channel.

This past December, I decided to do Vlogmas – which is vlogging my daily life every single day from Dec. 1 to Christmas. I had the BEST time sharing my daily life with my subscribers and it was a wonderful way to get in the Holiday season. If you haven’t watched those videos yet- you can catch up here. Towards the end of the month, I went to Disney World with my family for Christmas and I am so glad I was able to capture our trip and share it. I will always remember it and it was so amazing and special to be there during the holidays. I think I am a 5 year old trapped in a 27 year old body. LOL!

Now you have arrived at the main purpose of this post and it is to talk about my favorite makeup items from 2014! This has been my third year in a row making this type of video and it is a great reference if you want to hear some of my holy grail product recommendations. I have a separate video coming up that will concentrate on the top skincare, body care, and haircare, but the makeup one is live now!

So there you have it, my makeup standouts from this past year. I did not get around to a December favorites, but stay posted bc my January favorites will probably be epic! 🙂 Let me know if you have any questions about any of the makeup products! Have a great day! 🙂

Sales Sales Sales!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts, I have been beyond occupied at work these past few weeks and traveling nonstop. I am finally back home and have managed to feel a little situation! I can’t believe it is Thanksgiving this week. It is my second favorite holiday (second to Christmas of course), but one of the most exciting things about it is.. BLACK FRIDAY… and CYBER MONDAY! Guard your wallet because there are sales on sales on sales happening this week and if you are anything like me, you have already begun shopping the sales. I will share some of the exciting sales I have scored lately!

First up is Tory Burch. They always do a Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal, and I bit the bullet early because I knew I didn’t want the boots I wanted to sell out. I went to the store in Southpark in Charlotte with my cousin over the weekend and we both got a great deal on boots. She chose the Simone over the knee boots which are basically sold out everywhere (lucky duck), and I opted for the Marlene Riding Boot in Almond.

I also had a $50 gift card, so apart from them being on sale for $297, I basically got them for 50% off retail price. Awesome deal in my book. I already own classic black TB riding boots but I was definitely missing a brown pair. A lot of the sizes are sold out so this is something I recommend buying sooner rather than later. If you have a hard time finding them online, let me know and I can put you into contact with the SA I work with at the Charlotte store 🙂

Next up, Nordstrom! They have recently decided to align their sales with most other stores, and it is definitely working in their favor. I have gotten amazing deals there these past few months and just placed another order again! A lot of stuff is selling out quickly. I scored some cute Free People tops on sale yesterday and they are gone now! I bought these Halogen booties in the black leather when I was in LA a few weeks ago and I loved them so much that I ordered the grey suede ones. These booties are not only super comfortable but they look amazing on and look great with pants and dresses!

It may be a little crazy to have the same shoe in two colors, but they are at an amazing price and awesome quality too!

I have also gotten some great things on sale from LOFT & J.Crew! These are two stores that I very rarely pay retail price for. Actually, I don’t think I have ever gotten a full-priced item at LOFT ever! They are always running 30% or 40% sales, and I know on Black Friday they do a 50% off so keep your eyes peeled for that! I get so much of my work clothes from both of these stores. These are some items I have gotten lately. Both stores are currently running sales so act fast!

1. LOFT Split Neck Blouse : got it in the green and orange and love them! Size up to wear long with leggings and skinny jeans | 2. J.Crew Lambswool Sweater: super comfy and the perfect fall sweater – use code GETFESTIVE for 30% off | 3. LOFT Waterfall Cardigan: the perfect black sweater | 4. J.Crew Pixie Pants: my favorite pants of all time – wear them with long blouses, tunic sweaters, and basically anything in your closet!

What are you currently wishing for? Do you guys go Black Friday shopping? Or do you prefer the comfort of your own home and waiting for Cyber Monday? Like a true shopping addict, I do both! 🙂 Hope you are all having a great week!

Four Things for Friday

T.G.I.F. I hope you have a lovely weekend planned. This week flew by really fast for me (which is always good), and I am planning a relaxing next few days. I am gearing up for a week and a half of travel and want to make sure I am nice and rested before my flight on Monday. I want to share 4 things I have been loving this week. BLOG1

1. Taylor Swift’s 1989: I can’t really express in words or thoughts or emotions how much I love T.Swift’s new album. Now, I ain’t no bandwagon fan. I have been a huge fan of Taylor since her first single “Teardrops on my Guitar” and have loved her music ever since. I have seen her in concert twice and they were both the best concerts I have ever been to! I was not the biggest fan of Red (her previous album), but with 1989, she has regained her spot as my favorite artist. I like EVERY SINGLE SONG! I feel like that never happens. Standouts for me are Blank Space, Style, Wildest Dreams, Clean, Wonderland, and New Romance. Even if you do not like her personality, give this a shot – you will not be disappointed!

2. Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Pie Mochi: Yes, this exists. Yes, it is limited edition. Yes, you should drive to Trader Joe’s RIGHT NOW and get this. I’m not sure what possessed me to buy this on my recent trip to TJs, but what I do know is that this is one of the most delicious things I have ever tried. It literally tastes like pumpkin pie, but better. I also like how it is portion-controlled for you. I was going to buy the tub of pumpkin ice cream and decided against it because that totally could end in a “oops, I just ate an entire container of pumpkin ice cream in one sitting.” That needed to be avoided, so I opted for these. I am so happy I did. I may have gone back and gotten two more boxes. May have…

3. RHNOJ Reunion: Sad that my favorite housewives’ season is coming to an end. I know we all have a lot of mixed emotions about Teresa & Joe’s current situation, but regardless I just find it so sad for their children. [PS – did you see Gia’s music video???] I missed last night’s reunion part 2, but I will definitely be watching that tonight. So much drama. What do you all think about the fight between Dina and the rest of the clan? It is really crazy! I used to like Dina, but now I am not so sure. Lot’s of crazy happened this season, but the biggest question is why were Rosie and Kathy such a big part of it even though they aren’t housewives? Confused me for sure! Actually, I take that back. The only thing I want to know is how Amber and Jim are real human beings. Are we sure they are not hired actors? They are ridiculous and Jim is probably the rudest person on TV. I think my favorite continues to be Melissa – hello makeup and hair perfection!

4. YSL Sheer Candy: If you watch my YouTube videos, you know I am certifiably obsessed with YSL lipsticks. My favorite formula is the rouge volupté shine one, but I just bought my first sheer candy formula and oh my gosh, it is a dream! I got the color #7 Sweet Fig and it gives the most beautiful natural flush of berry on your lips. It is super moisturizing and has the amazing YSL lip product smell (a mix of citrus and vanilla)! I am tempted to pick up another during the current Sephora VIB sale!

What have you been loving this week? Have a great weekend!

Sephora VIB Sale Info + Best of Sephora Recommendations

It’s my favorite time of year – the time when Sephora offers 20% off your entire purchase if you are a VIB member! You would have received an e-mail with all of the information and code if you qualify, but the code is GIFTROUGE and you can also use it in store. It is a great time to stock up on skincare and your makeup favorites, but it is also a great time to take the plunge on some items you have been wanting for a while. I was lucky to snag a F&F code from an employee a few weeks ago, so I already placed a larger order. I will probably only get a few small things with the VIB sale, but who can resist 2o% off at Sephora? I am sharing my video that might give you an idea on what to order as well as some of my all time favorite products that you can get at Sephora!

I am editing my haul from the F&F sale, and that will hopefully be up tomorrow! Tweet at me if you have any questions or would like more in depth recommendations 🙂

How I Store my Lush Bath Products

If you have ever entered the magic that is a Lush store, you know how captivating the baskets filled with bath bombs and bath melts are. I am not going to lie – previous to this year, I thought baths were a waste of time. I have discovered that they can be super relaxing when using the right products and that brings me to Lush! Usually, I bring a chair in and watch YouTube while I relax in the bath with a glass of wine. The Charlotte store recently opened up in Southpark mall and I went it and got a nice supply of bath bombs and bath melts. I only have a few left now, but I will definitely be going back for more. I wanted a cute storage idea for them, and I ended up buying this gorgeous container from Marshalls for 6 dollars. You definitely cannot beat that! I keep this container on my bathroom counter – not only does it look pretty, but it keeps my products nice and it makes the bathroom smell like a mini lush store!

I have to re-stock for sure as I used one of them last night. Have you ever tried Lush bath products? Any favorites? You can order Lush online, but you can also check to see if you have one in your town.

October Beauty Favorites

It’s hard to believe we only have two months left in this year. Time has flown by at an incredible speed this year, it is crazy! On my YouTube channel, I make monthly beauty favorites where I talk about beauty products that I have been obsessed with over the last month. Usually they are newer products that have made their way into my collection, but I also include old favorites (or rediscoveries as I like to call them) that I have been using a lot too. I was traveling a lot during October so I used a lot of items that are versatile and easy to travel with. I discovered a lot of great goodies and it’s a pretty long video so grab a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine) and enjoy!

Here we go again…

So here we go again – another blog! I blogged for 4 years previously at Yes it is, Kevin and I loved it for about 3. I got overwhelmed with blogging, and noticed that it was a lot easier for me to connect with others through video. I started my YouTube channel over three years ago and it is probably one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I have been able to connect with fellow beauty and fashion lovers all over the world and it really makes daily life so much more enjoyable. In this day and age with all of us attached to our smartphones and instagram, what better way to connect? I have recently missed having a place to write out my thoughts when it comes to beauty and I thought – why not start from scratch? I am still learning at this wordpress thing since I used to be on blogger, but I will hopefully get acquainted with it sooner than later 🙂 I will be posting beauty reviews and favorites, outfit posts and fashion wishlists, and probably some lifestyle things as well. I am looking forward to a fresh new start and hope you will read along with me.  I will be sharing my October Beauty Favorites video today! Have a great day!
